After a lap on Wildfire, we headed up to Reunion Hall for lunch and for
the park presentations. Lisa Rau, from SDC, started things off by
welcoming everyone to the event.
Next was SDC general manager Brad Thomas, who talked about all the exciting
things that have taken place this year for the park's 50th anniversary.
He also discussed the new pint-sized play area Half Dollar Holler that will
be added to the park next year. Finally, he also discussed the new lazy river
that will be added to White Water for next season.
As is customary, all attendees got special goodies from each park that presented.
Here is what SDC gave to each of the attendees. Pretty cool.
The next park to present was Schlitterbahn Kansas City,
represented by Chris Ozimeck.
Besides a cool magnetic bottle opener and a huge pen, everyone got 2 free tickets
good for any operating day in 2011 to Schlitterbahn Kansas City.
It is an exciting time at Schlitterbahn KC as they are going to double the park's size
next season with that addition of lots of new attractions.
The new attractions include a 3000' long Rapids River, 2 FlowRiders, 2 new head-first
mat slides, a new enclosed raft slide, and some more things not yet announced.
Next was Nick Guevel, representing Worlds of Fun. Next year the park will be
redoing their kids area while adding new rides, including 1 ride that has yet to be announced.
The other big addition to the park is a historic Illions Carousel that used
to be be at Geauga Lake. The recently rennovated carousel will be placed near
the front gate on the site of the old Festahaus catering tent.
Nick also showed some photos that Brandon Stanley, WOF's PR Mgr, had taken of
winter rehabs that are taking place around the park.
