Garden of the Groves, Intl Bazaar, Port Lucaya
Trip Report 12.29.09 -- Bahamas - Day 2
There were lakes all over this place.
Our guide through the gardens explaining about the birds.
This pathway led up to the onsite chapel.
Prayer garden.
Apparently this church was built to resemble the original church on the island.
Mr. Grove built the church so that the workers that were building Freeport
could have a place to congregate and worship.
Originally the island was mainly Catholic, but has since become mainly Baptist.
A very cute little church.
Let's go inside.
While no services are held here on a regular basis, it can be used by any
denomination as long as their service leader is present to lead in worship.
