SILVER DOLLAR CITY'S WORLD FEST | TRIP REPORT 04.21.12

Welcome back to Silver Dollar City.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

No, not Christmas -- it's WORLD FEST!

We'll start off our day at the Gazebo Stage
with the Russian Academic Band.

The group is really good. They perform a special blend
of traditional Russian music and American Dixieland Jazz.

The park opened (well the rest of the park) at 9:30am and
I headed right to PowerKeg and Wildfire to get rides in.
Turned out this was a great idea as later the lines were
extremely long due to a plethora of school busses today.

Over by the Old Time Photos, Ecuador Manta performed their
haunting music on pan pipes and other Andean instruments.
They also had a formal show up at the Gazebo, but I missed it.

Back up on Main Street, the Kenyan Sarakasi Acrobats
took center ring... um, street to perform.

Besides doing the limbo and jumping rope, they
did some amazing pyramids tricks.

Yep. Pretty amazing.
