WORLDS OF FUN'S PATRIOT | CONSTRUCTION REPORT 01.14.06
Early Friday morning the very last piece of Patriot's
track was placed. We now have a complete rollercoaster!
The crawler crane is now down and should soon
be making its way off the construction site.
Work on the station is continuing. The supports for the roof
are all in place now and now all they need to do is attached
the boards and then finally the roof pieces.
I still cannot get over how severly banked this curve is.
The corkscrew near the end of the ride is going to one wicked element.
The finale will really fly as you come off the
floater hill into the corkscrew and around this helix.
This helix really hugs the ground -- much like Talon's
This last "pop" before the brakes will provide an excellent
"foot-chopper" effect as it goes over the track below it.
There is the "crown" in place. It was
placed early this morning before 8a.m.
Panning out we can see that the arebr>
still working hard on the station.
Looking on from 48th street we can see just how close the
final helix will be to the entrance plaza to the parking lots.
How is this for an "entrance" coaster. I think that Patriot
is taking over where Orient Express left off. Finally there's
something to watch in the parking lot again.
